Winter 2008 News The Winter 2008 Baseball Program is off to a fine start with over 40 players participating. Practices and games are scheduled from late November till the end of January. UPDATE (Monday, January 5, 2009 -- 9:20 a.m.) Upcoming Scrimmage: We have not been able to schedule an opponent for this coming Saturday, so we plan to intra-squad scrimmage instead. We have tentatively scheduled the scrimmage for a 1:00 p.m. start time. It is likely that the JV team will practice before and the Varsity will practice after the scrimmage. Check back for updates later in the week. Practices are "ON" for this week; the weather should be good both Wednesday and Thursday.
Summer 2008 Wrap Up The Westwood Summer Baseball Program enjoyed another successful year. Both the varsity and freshman teams competed in weekday games and weekend tournaments. Both teams also hosted tournaments at Westwood in addition to playing in area high school and Perfect Game select tournaments. The hot, dry weather enabled the teams to play virtually all of their scheduled games. As always, the wonderful parent support, strong coaching, and tremendous planning and coordination enabled the program to remain highly successful. Westwood remains the leader in summer ball as we coordinated the play of over 65 central Texas high school summer baseball programs. Click here for more Summer 2008 news.
